Employment Law

The relationship between employers and employees is complex, beginning with a Contract of Employment and sometimes ending acrimoniously. Legislation exists to deal with issues such as Unfair Dismissal, Wrongful Dismissal, Redundancy, Minimum Notice, harassment and bullying in the workplace, Health and Safety. Employment law is an area of increasing concern for both employers and workers with a complex and continually evolving body of legislation and new rulings affecting how this legislation is interpreted. We provide advice on all aspects of workplace legal issues, both contentious and non-contentious in nature for both employers and employees.

On the non-contentious side we can assist clients with all aspects of the employment relationship from recruitment and selection to drafting and reviewing employment contracts, HR policies and procedures and health and safety issues.

Disputes sometimes need to be resolved by a Rights Commissioner or the Workplace Relations Commission. In the event litigation becomes unavoidable we offer a full range of services to employers and employees on a wide range of employment law issues and we can represent clients before the Rights Commissioner, the Workplace Relations Commission, the Equality Tribunal and the Civil Courts.

We provide services in the following areas:

  • Unfair Dismissal and Wrongful Dismissal.
  • Minimum Notice and Redundancy claims.
  • Rights Commissioner Applications.
  • Workplace Relations Commission Applications.
  • Contracts of Employment.
  • Bullying and Harassment in the Workplace.
  • Constructive Dismissal
